Danny Glover and Rob Baard
Uncork’d Entertainment to distribute popular Australian movie in March

A new superhero action film promises to showcase – unlike so many recent Hollywood films – authentic martial arts.

The Ninja: Immovable Heart, on DVD and VOD March 3, features a bonafide ninjutu expert participating in some of the more realistic martial arts fight sequences put on film.

Australian Rob Baard has been practicing martial arts since a young age, and welcomed the chance to put the real stuff on film.

”I began studying martial arts at 12 years old, beginning with Kyokushin Karate, Oh’s Taekwondo, Seido through Merve Nelis, and Kukishin Ninjutsu through Adam Swift; my first black belt was at 18 years old,” Baard, who directs and stars in the film, said in a recent interview.” Then for the last 8 or more years now has been with the Bujinkan through Shihan Richard Van Donk.”

In addition to introducing audiences to a newer action hero, The Ninja: Immovable Heart also welcomes back to the action genrelegendary movie star Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, Predator 2).

“I’m excited by Danny being in the film because I loved the Lethal Weapon films, I grew up on them and it was surreal to be able to direct such a Hollywood movie star,” Baard said recently. “He was a great bloke to shoot with. We’ve got his character in an upcoming project we’re shooting in Feb and his character is planned to return in the next films, so we’ll see where that falls when that time comes.  Danny’s character is a main character throughout the series, and he plays a similar type role to that which people love him for. I’m excited to grow that working relationship and to see where it all goes!”

Synopsis: Reeve is a member of an elite covert group thought not to exist anymore, he is captured, beaten and brutally tortured, by the very Governments he used to work for. With the help of his old mentor John Carpenter, Reeve must strip away, and rid himself of the emerging demons of his past, so that he may understand the core essence of Ninjutsu, the Ninja’s Immovable heart, in order to remember how and why he was captured, and what he is meant to do, before time runs out and his captors discover why he is really here.

The Ninja: Immovable Heart is part of a larger franchise that will soon include comics, a clothing line, and a TV series spin-off, and hits DVD and Digital March 3 from Uncork’d Entertainment
