Death: An Exploration is a non-fiction book and Mayshark’s first book. The reader is taken on a journey through multiple viewpoints including Steve Jobs’s embrace of his death, Ray Kurzweil’s striving for immortality, and Joseph Campbell’s view of death as the “ornament of life.” Mayshark ties together various theories from the best contemporary minds, spiritual insights, scientific discoveries, and his own personal reflections.

The book is available through Amazon, as an e book, an audio book and in print. Since its launch, the book has averaged 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon amongst readers and has been an Amazon #1 Best Seller in Grief & Loss and is currently ranked among the top -selling books of the category.

Growing up with a skeleton in his living room and objects of death all around him, makes Mayshark uniquely qualified to serve as guide. He notes that he wrote the non-fiction book in an effort to help anyone coping with death to provide deeper knowledge of the subject from different perspectives.

“My book serves the purpose of helping readers discover more about death in order to enjoy a fuller life,” explains author, Loren Mayshark. “There’s a current discussion about the relationship between death and ayahuasca, which I cover in the book as well as treatments of issues associated with death including immortality, artificial replication of life, and reincarnation.”

The 102-page book was published by Red Scorpion Press, a boutique publishing company that works to debut books like Death: An Exploration for readers in search of information and entertainment.
