4th of July Song “Red Blooded American” By Rafa Selase The Anthem For Mexican Americans

July 03 14:15 2017

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – 3 Jul, 2017 – Fireworks, BBQs and beer come to mind when thinking of the 4th of July, but one of the best ways to celebrate the weekend is with patriotic music!

Many recall Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.”, Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.,” and even The Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ U.S.A.” These may be considered patriotic anthems, but this is a new day. With all the social upheaval the past year has brought, Americans are ready for a new anthem. They’re ready for more than just, “Make America Great Again.”

Rafa Selase charted out his career in music and performance art by leaving audiences speechless with his multi-media infused social exploration titled, “The Souletics Experience.” His newest release, “Red Blooded American,” is a deeper journey into his musical gift, our national history, and the current social and political landscape.

While some may experience a 30-second brain malfunction reminiscent of Jimi Hendricks’ performance of “Star Spanglanded Banner,”

“America is rock ‘n’ roll, American is freedom and America is expression,” Selase quips.  “When Jimi Hendrix’s dropped his eyes wide open guitar-shredding 1969 performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock, many people called it ‘blasphemy’ and ‘ridiculous noise,’ but as Hendrix said, ‘I thought it was beautiful.’ Hendrix exemplifies what can be done when a man is free to express himself.”

Some may not  know of singer/songwriter Rafa Selase, as many of his first recordings were primarily piano instrumentals in the new age relaxation meditation genre. But Selase is one artist who likes to keep people guessing. His first vocal release, “Red Blooded American.” mixes piano, guitar and powerful vocals that will send heads spinning. He is sending a clear message that he thinks before speaking.

“Part of what makes America so wildly amazing is the freedom to be as quirky, intelligent, crazy and artistic as you want,” Selase continues. “My music is the opposite of crazy — it embraces all that we are…free!”

“Red Blooded American” is a clear example of an intelligent, caring segment of American culture that illustrates why we need the beautiful diversity of this colorful nation in which we live.

This beautiful song is sure to be an anthem for some, but may also be disregarded noise by others. But that is what makes America great! After listening to this song, I can say with a certainty that we don’t want to go backwards.

There are several America-themed songs for all your weekend events. But an anthem is something that you remember and repeat! An anthem is generally a patriotic musical composition that evokes emotions, brings to light distant memories, the history, traditions and struggles of its people. Red Blooded American is it!
